Today’s Scripture Reading: Psalm 68

Today’s Message: 1 John 3:14-24 "Practicing Sincere Love"

Tonight: Psalm 68

Thursday Night: Mark 12:18-44

Operation Christmas Child Shoeboxes:  Our friends at Pleasant Meadows had a blast packing shoeboxes with items that were donated by our church, so if anyone would like to donate more shoebox items, we can ship that over there as well and let them have another crack at it.  Also, for a little extra incentive, we are having a friendly competition with Calvary Chapel Belfast to see which of us can pack more boxes.

Youth Group: Beginning tonight, we will be meeting at 6 p.m. during our evening service.

Prayer Meeting: All are welcome to join us for open prayer at Morton on Wednesday, October 20, at 6 p.m.

First Step Pregnancy Resource Center is holding its Annual Fundraising Banquet on Thursday, October 21, 2010, at Spectacular Event Center at 395 Griffin Road in Bangor.  Seating begins at 6:45 p.m., and the dinner and program will be held from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.  Dinner is complimentary (please wear Sunday attire), and there will be an opportunity to make a financial gift.  Seating is limited (no children, please), so please call the Center at 942-1611 or someone you know that is serving as a Table Host if you have not RSVP’d yet, to make sure of seating availability.  Thank you for your continued support of Life!

Men’s Prayer Breakfast: 7 a.m. on Saturday, October 23, at Morton.  Please invite someone, and bring a breakfast item to share.

Halloween Alternative: Will be offered at the Assembly of God Church in Dover-Foxcroft on Sunday, October 31, from 6 - 8 p.m.  No costumes please.

Redeeming Our Treasures Conference: Has been postponed to a later date as the speaker has had some family health issues to which she needed to attend.

This month our ministry focus is centered around First Step Pregnancy Resource Center: We have some empty baby bottles up back for you to take, fill with spare change, and bring back for donation to help them offer free confidential pregnancy tests along with resources to help women and men make an informed choice.

Tithes and Offerings:  We do not pass an offering plate during our services, but encourage all who attend regularly “whose hearts are stirred and everyone whose spirit is willing” to place your offerings in the dark walnut box on the back table. (Exodus 35:21; Malachi 3:10)
