Benefit Concert for the Dyers: On Sunday, October 25, from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. at Morton.  This will be preceded by a covered-dish meal with the Maine Christian Musician’s Guild members at 5 p.m.  Please see Michelle with any questions.  We are also continuing to provide meals for the Dyers for a couple more weeks on Mondays and Fridays.  Please sign up or see Michelle if you can help.  Also, a benefit fund has been established at the Maine Highlands Federal Credit Union on their behalf.  Financial donations can be dropped off or mailed to:  MHFCU; P.O. Box 507; Dover-Foxcroft, Maine 04426.  Please make a memo with donations “For the benefit of John and Brianna Dyer”.  Thank you to everyone for all the prayers and support!

Stand for Marriage Initiative:
Needs help getting the word out to our community to get involved with the Stand for Marriage initiative.  There is a need for a district coordinator that will oversee organizing a group of people who will put out road signs, make calls to churches, visit door-to-door to give people information and encourage them to vote, and get the general public informed about Question 1 - the People's Veto of the Same-Sex Marriage Legislation (LD 1020).  Please see Pastor Dave if you can help in any way.

Operation Christmas Child: It’s time again to start thinking about putting together Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes.    Collection dates will be November 15 through 18 at Morton (you can bring them in prior to the 15th, if you wish), and November 16 through 23 at Calvary in Orrington.  If you have any questions, please contact Kevin or Lisa Bowden.

More Donation Opportunities: We would like to decorate our room at Morton, so If anyone has extra fall decorations (window clings, etc.), they would be appreciated.  Also, snacks for the nursery and Sunday School are in need of replenishing.  Containers of pretzels, goldfish, animal crackers, graham crackers, etc., and bottles of juice or cans of juice concentrate would be greatly appreciated.  If you would like to donate one or some of these items, please bring them to the Sunday School classroom.  Thank you so much for your generosity!

Ride Ministry: We offer a ride ministry for church services for those with no vehicle, or for those experiencing vehicle troubles.  If you or someone you know would benefit from this, please see Kevin Bowden.

Missions: Our goals and ambitions for ministry in a foreign land seem lofty and beyond our ability.  Perhaps this is the posture God wants of us; we’ll at least know for sure that whatever progress occurs follows His might and accrues to His glory.

The question about future ministry still hovers over us.  But this much is clear:

the Bible commands us to go,
the field hopes we will come,
the figures show us the need,
the Spirit promises us the strength,
the Judgment means we must go.

An eternity will record our reply.
