Today’s Scripture Reading: Proverbs 6:20-35

Today’s Message: Genesis 38 & 39 “Principles of Maturity: (P.O.M.)”

Tonight: Psalm 37

Thursday Night: Book of Jeremiah

Leadership Meeting: Starting at 4:30 p.m. this afternoon, followed by fellowship and food time from 5:30 to 6 p.m.  All are welcome to join us.

Pro Family (God's Way) Worship and Prayer Service: Tonight from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Monument Square in Portland.  Come join in support of family the way God designed. The focus of the meeting will be praise and prayer. This is not a political rally; this is meant to be the Church rallying to worship God and to adhere to His Word, specifically His clear view on what marriage should be. Over 50 local churches have been invited, but that is not an exclusive list. Every follower of Jesus is invited, no matter what church they might attend. Please spread the word. If you cannot attend, please pray.

Stand for Marriage Initiative: Be sure to vote on November 3.  If you can’t do it in person, you can obtain an absentee ballot from your town office. If you would like to help get a final word out to our community about this initiative, please see Pastor Dave.

International Day of Prayer: For persecuted Christians around the world will be November 8.  For more information, you can go to the Web site www.opendoorsusa.org.

Operation Christmas Child: Collection dates for shoeboxes will be November 15 through 18 at Morton (you can bring them in prior to the 15th, if you wish), and November 16 through 23 at Calvary in Orrington.  If you have any questions, please contact Kevin or Lisa Bowden.

Men’s Prayer Breakfast: 7 a.m. on Saturday, November 21, at Morton.  Please invite someone, and bring a breakfast item to share.

Thanksgiving Dinner: November 22 at 5 p.m. at the Homchuck residence.  More details to follow.

Ride Ministry: We offer a ride ministry for church services for those with no vehicle, or for those experiencing vehicle troubles.  If you or someone you know would benefit from this, please see Kevin Bowden.

Troop Packages:
There is a donation box on the back table with a list of items needed by our troops.  We collect these items and send out packages on a quarterly basis.  If you have any questions, please see Tracy or Nan Redmond.

Missions: Our goals and ambitions for ministry in a foreign land seem lofty and beyond our ability.  Perhaps this is the posture God wants of us; we’ll at least know for sure that whatever progress occurs follows His might and accrues to His glory.

The question about future ministry still hovers over us.  But this much is clear:

the Bible commands us to go,
the field hopes we will come,
the figures show us the need,
the Spirit promises us the strength,
the Judgment means we must go.

An eternity will record our reply.
