Our new study – a four-week series on “The Fear of the Lord” – begins this Thursday, March 4, at 6 p.m. Operation Christmas Child "Item of the Month" Program: We are asking for donations of a specific shoebox item each month to hopefully increase our shoebox output for 2010. February's item of the month will be small stuffed animals for boys or girls. Post-Valentine’s Day specials/clearances will be a great opportunity to pick up an item or two or more to donate. Troop Packages “Item of the Month”: Suggested troop items for March: Heart-warming or funny DVD movies; Hot Chocolate or Cocoa Mix; Assorted Candy (Marshmallow Peeps , Jelly Beans, etc. - must be WRAPPED in unopened packages – PLEASE! No Chocolate Candy! - The weather is too hot [120° F] and chocolate will melt!); Instant Powdered Drink Mixes (Gatorade, Tang, Crystal Light, Zingers, Lemonade & Iced Tea are good choices); Toiletries: Skin Care Products, Sunscreen, Chapstick, Visine, Hand Sanitizers, Baby Wipes, Deodorant, Razors, Shave Gel & Dental Care Products; Decorations (non-breakable) of any kind (mini plastic Easter baskets, artificial grass, plastic eggs, etc.); Girl Scout Cookies (non-chocolate only); Passover Items: Passover Matzoh, non-chocolate macaroons, plastic Seder plates, paperback Haggadah books, etc.; Easter & Passover Cards (blank) for our troops to send home to their families; Easter & Passover Cards from loving citizens back home. Baby Shower to Benefit First Step Pregnancy Resource Center: Saturday, March 6, at 10 a.m. at Morton. We will be having brunch-style foods if you can bring something to share. Baby items will be given to First Step to help new moms & dads who have been attending parenting classes at or sought help from First Step. First Step provides Biblical counseling and parenting classes for these struggling moms and dads and has helped encourage many to keep their babies rather than opt for abortion. Gifts do not need to be wrapped, but can be, if you would like. Suz Kasprzak from First Step PRC will be joining us. Please see Michelle or Nan for more information.
