Today’s Scripture Reading: Scripture Texts on “Love”            ADVENT CANDLE LIGHTING

Today’s Message: Luke 2:8-20

Tonight: Caroling & Christmas Party

Thursday Night: Christmas Eve Service

Kiwanis Piscataquis Santa Project: Still has some local needy children left to be sponsored.  If you would like to contribute, please go on-line at piscataquisresources.org or call Penquis at 564-7116.

Christmas Caroling & Party:  Anyone interested in caroling should meet at church at 4 p.m. tonight.  We will practice a bit, go out caroling, and then come back to church for a time of food and fellowship. Please sign up if you would like to bring a dish to share at our Christmas party and dinner to follow our time of caroling.

Free Movie: Center Theatre will be showing Star of Bethlehem today at 2 and 4 p.m.  All showings are free!

Christmas Eve Service: On Thursday, December 24, at 6 p.m., at Morton.  Come join us for special music and a candlelight service.

Christmas Gift Table: Please visit our table up back for some ideas for Christmas gift-giving.  Also be sure to check out Pastor’s Suggested Reading List on the last page of the bulletin, with more suggestions on our web page under the Resources tab.

New Year’s Eve Celebration: Starting at 8 p.m. on December 31 at Morton.  There will be food, games, and a movie.  From 11 p.m. to midnight we will worship and pray in the New Year.

First Step Pregnancy Resource Center: Has some empty baby bottles up back for you to take, fill with spare change, and bring back for donation to help them offer free confidential pregnancy tests along with resources to help women make an informed choice.

Ride Ministry: We offer a ride ministry for church services for those with no vehicle, or for those experiencing vehicle troubles.  If you or someone you know would benefit from this, see Kevin Bowden.

Troop Packages: There is a donation box on the back table with a list of items needed by our troops.  We collect these items and send out packages on a quarterly basis.  If you have any questions, please see Tracy or Nan Redmond.

Missions: Our goals and ambitions for ministry in a foreign land seem lofty and beyond our ability.  Perhaps this is the posture God wants of us; we’ll at least know for sure that whatever progress occurs follows His might and accrues to His glory.

The question about future ministry still hovers over us.  But this much is clear:

the Bible commands us to go,
the field hopes we will come,
the figures show us the need,
the Spirit promises us the strength,
the Judgment means we must go.

An eternity will record our reply.
